Only Have Steam Account Fro Destiny 2 Crosssave but It Wont Let Me Continue After Authenticating

Hey Phil, how are you today? Hope you're well.
Sync your Steam and Xbox account to your Bungie.net account. Turn on Cross Save and set your Steam account as the main account. Pay for gamepass. Login to your xbox live account on your PC's Microsoft Store and download the Microsoft Store version of D2 and all the DLC for free with said gamepass. Probably uninstall the Steam version to save ssd/hdd space. Launch the Microsoft version and if you've already set your Steam Cross Save as your primary then you should only see your Steam Guardians. All progress will be there.
Note: Silver doesn't transfer with Cross Save, but items bought with Silver do. So if you have silver either spend it, or just remember that you have Silver on Steam and login though Steam when there's something you want to buy.

I don't have the problem of Silver fortunately.
My prime concern at present is whether I will be entitled to the dlc's on Gamepass Ultimate if I choose my Steam a/c characters to play on the Xbox app.
I don't imagine that concern can be accurately addressed here, as it's a specific Bungie X save element.
I'm currently seeking authoritative advice on the Bungie.net forums for this specific nuance, but if anyone on Microsoft forums has done exactly what I'm attempting, then their advice will be much appreciated.

If you bought the DLC via Steam, and the same DLC is available on the Gamepass, then yes. :)

pretty pointless about dlc anyway, another third of the game is getting vaulted in january.

I feel your pain Farscape, (great moniker btw, great series too!) I miss Mercury and Titan already. I hope we lose the Moon coz it's my least favourite map, though plot wise it'd be tricky to explain I guess.
Thing about f2p games is they have to keep innovating. I've always liked and respected Bungie, they've made many great games and seem to be one of the better game companies out there, so fingers X'd for good replacement content eh? Plus we have the old content vault I guess.
For me, I think I can just about play all the dlc's available on Gamepass Ultimate, before January anyway, so your info makes me want to be completely certain I won't lose access to the dlc's with X save!
Good news for me is that if I have to play D2 on Xbox app, from a base point character (as I've already started) then I don't mind coz it's such a great game that the grind is fun! Main thing about my Steam characters is all the great exotics I've collected, which'd be nice and helpful to have but hey ho.

the main reason they are vaulting stuff is not because they kept breaking everything, they want to keep the size down due to consoles limited space, they should split it up and if you have the space have the lot installed. but alas we shall never see that happen.
Forsaken and lots of other sections will be completely gone from the game in January.

Actually, thinking on it, it's the console manufacturers. I mean, in today's world you have to be building in terabytes of storage space eh?
I've just been reassured on the Bungie forums that I can take my Steam characters onto Xbox app without losing access to the dlc's, which is brilliant coz I've already done most of Forsaken with them, so that'll save me some time.

ouch, they said that, the season pass crosses over to all versions but not the DLC.
you can cross save, so you have steam profile set as master and any other platform you sign in on uses those characters/saves.

Happy you clarified that, though it's not a problem for me.
My Steam version is the base game + Forsaken.
My Xbox app version has all dlc's, so while I won't take Forsaken over using X save, it's already active on the Xbox account.
I looked into the vaulting thing and this article is quite interesting;
